Travis Prom

Today was also our brother Travis's junior prom. Here are a few pics.

Graduation

Today was my graduation from Upstate with my degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Magnum Cum Laud ( I think that is how you spell it). It was a long day and warm at the On Center. Chris and my mom came to watch the ceremony. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture with all the girls in my class but here are a few pics from that day.

Demo

Today at work we had a demo of a newer version of our current ultrasound machines. I was asked to be a volunteer for scanning as they scanned quite a few people for different exams. Here are a few images from today:

Another set of 3d/4d images

After I told my job about my pregnancy they asked if I would volunteer to let the interviewees for another position scan me, so of course I said sure (as long as they don't reveal the baby's gender). So as a gift for volunteering they did a few 3d/4d images for me:

Today I started my ultrasound job and I love it!! I am very excited to be working and can't wait to continue my career at this local hospital for many years to come. Also I got to go shopping for scrubs so that was also fun.

Boston review class

This weekend was the review class for physics in Boston, MA. Five out of the seven girls in my class (including myself) went down for the class. It was worth the trip as I learned a lot and had lots of fun. Here is a picture of us with our certificates saying we completed the class.

And one without.......From left to right its me, Stephanie, Laura, Carissa, and Randi

This weekend was also Chris's birthday weekend so he came with us to the hotel in Boston. On Saturday he went into Boston on his own and then at night we all had dinner together. The next day, Sunday, was his actual birthday so after my review class was over we met up with one of our friends Becky for lunch and then Chris and I went to Quincy Market and the New England Aquarium.

Last Day of School

Today was the last day of college....hopefully forever. It was a bittersweet day as I was sad to say goodbye to all of my new friends at my clinical site. Now its time to enter the real world and get down to business. One last message to them though: "If you feed them they will come home...."

I also got going away gifts from my new friends and they are super cute items for the baby:

3D and 4D Sonos

I went back to visit my friends at one of my clinical sites and they have the transducers that do the 3D and 4D imaging so I got a few images. It was cool to see how the transducer worked and how to get the images and then how to adjust them. At my new job they too have these capabilities so I was also trying to learn how to work the transducer. Here are the images:

A Start to my Career

I am very excited that this is my last semester in school. April 19 is my official last day of being a college student (hopefully for good)! Although I don't graduate until May 22 I am still excited. Also today made my weekend as I received a call that a local hospital wanted to offer me a job..so I accepted the offer of course!!!!! Now I am really excited to start my career locally and can't wait to make money instead of spend it on school.

Doctor's Appt

Today was our monthly appointment with our OB. Everything went well, and the doc said we are right on track. I also noticed my chart today...I gained a whopping 9.5lbs from the 3rd to today. Well hopefully it all went to good use lol.

Today I also got scanned by the junior students at my school. It was interesting to help teach them how to get the right angle and how to move to get the anatomic structures that we look for. I had to let them know though that I did NOT want to know the gender of the baby, and they were good about it. We definitely have an active child as the baby kept moving all over when they were trying to scan me today. Only a few more months and then we will meet our little bambino.

Scanning Lab

Since the other girls in my class and I have class on Wednesdays now for review and to practice scanning I was scanned. Here are the pics from today, approx 21w3d but the baby measured 23w0d and 1 lb 4 oz plus or minus 4 oz. They are foot, profile, leg, nose/lips.

Today is also my dad's bday so Happy Birthday Dad!

Another Family Member

Today my cousin had her second child- a little girl!!!! Happy Birthday to Maria! We are excited to meet the new little one this summer. Congrats to Patricia and Ryan and big brother Lucas.

The first sign of a bump

Well it is now official....I have a baby bump. A small one but none the less a bump. Its the first sign that other people will begin to recognize that we are expecting a little bambino. Chris helped take this picture so that we could post it, it's a little dark. The picture is from when we were approximately 20w3d along.

A Heart Healthy Day

Today my friends and I walked 5 miles for the American Heart Association Heart Run and Walk. It was fun. It was cooler in the beginning when we started walking and started to warm up when we ended, 2 hours later. It was for a good cause and a good way to spend time with my friends.

Clinical

Today at my clinical site it was a little slow so one of the techs that was working there scanned me to make sure everything looked good because yesterday I measured a little big but not out of range for the baby's gestational age. She took a picture for me of the baby's profile.

Busy Day

Today we had our official anatomy scan and doctors appointment. It went okay. The doctor said that everything looked good on today's ultrasound. That was good news. We got a few good pictures from the ultrasound, so below is one of the baby's leg.

I then had a busy day. I had a job interview at a local hospital, so here's hoping something good develops. Then I visited my chiropractor, that always makes me feel better.

Well it seemed busy earlier but writing it down it doesn't look like I did a lot lol.

Here's the baby's leg:

A Visit With the Girls

Tuesdays are the only day that I have class with any of the girls in my senior class. Today after our class was over we went to see our ultrasound teacher but he wasn't there. We then decided to practice scanning each other in the lab, as another of the girls and myself are prego. To our surprise the lab had two newer machines so we decided to try them out. We had a really great time, as we hardly get to hang out anymore. Everyone in my class are very talented scanners, here are a few pictures that the girls took for me.

Doctor's Appt

Today we had our monthly doctor's appointment. Sometimes we wonder really how important these appointments are since they only last 5 minutes or so but my mother reminded me that everything is important when it comes to our baby. Overall the appointment went well we met another of the doctors in our group (whom we really liked). He did the Doppler on my stomach so we could hear the baby's heartbeat..it was there and beating strong. Then he answered some of our questions, one being about sweets..yay now I can eat sweets without Chris worrying about gestational diabetes as much (or hiding all of my candy). We scheduled our next appointments for March when we get our official anatomy sono and then the monthly visit. No one at my doctor's office knows that I do ultrasound or that I have already had some scans done. LOL

My last day

Today was my last day at my current clinical site. It was sad to leave all of my new friends. As I am into the second trimester I can no longer scan myself as I do not want to know the baby's gender. One of the girls scanned me today so I could get one last peek at the baby, since I will be rotating to a new site on Monday. The baby was not very cooperative as it faced my back with its butt down so getting a nice profile was out. However we got a few cute pictures of the baby's face, feet, and spine. I plan on going back to my clinical site to visit and then maybe we will check on the baby as I get farther along too.

Another Look

I know I know I'm psycho but when my clinical site found out that I was pregnant one of the girls wanted to take a pic for me so here it is...

A Video Experience

Chris went with me to school to see the baby and his phone has the capability to take videos. So here is a video. We don't know what we're having and I don't want to find out as I want a surprise but Chris has his own guess as to what gender the baby is.

Our first look at the baby

I am an ultrasound student so of course I wanted to check on myself to make sure that there was only one baby and that it had the main components (ie. head, arms, legs, and heartbeat). This image I took myself on 1-4-10 at my clinical site.

Our announcement

So as many of you may or may not know we are expecting our first baby this year!! We are both excited and looking forward to the experience. We hope to use this website to keep everyone up to date with what is going on with us since we are very busy and hardly see anyone.
